Nayanthara's surprise 'No' to Mohanlal!

It may seem difficult to believe. But it is true. Nayanthara , the most happening star in Tamil and Malayalam , has declined to do a movie with megastar Mohanlal .

Ironically, Nayan got noticed after she paired with Mohanlal in films like "Vismayathumbathu" and "Natturajavu".




The buzz is that Thara has excused herself out of the Bhadran-directed "Udayon" because she is busy with films from Tamil and Telugu.

However, the mystery behind Nayan's refusal to act with Mohanlal deepens when viewed against her decision to do a film with the other Malayalam megastar Mammootty around the same time.

The film, to be directed by Kamal is titled "Rappakal". Interestingly, shooting for "Rappakal" is taking place around the same time when the picturisation of "Udayon" is also on.

In other words, Nayanthara is ready to act with Mammootty but not prepared to share the silverscreen with Mohanlal! Why ?

Incidentally, she is the heroine in another Mammootty movie in the making titled "Thaskaraveeran", too.

Sources ascribe Nayanthara's refusal to act against Mohanlal to reports churned out by gossip magazines linking the two.

Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure. The star knows which side of the bread is buttered.

If you remember, she had said no to offers to act against Mammootty and Jayaram in the past. The reason was that she was busy acting in Tamil superstar Rajnikant 's film "Chandramukhi".

Now that the shooting schedule for "Chandramukhi" is over, Nayan has opted to do a film with Mammootty.

The reason, so goes the grapevine, is simple. Mammootty is the most-sought-after actor these days in Malayalam. So, a film with him would only boost her star value. Hence Nayan's decision to concentrate on a movie with Mammootty.

You cannot but agree that it is indeed a smart move on the part of the comely actress.
